A very warm welcome to anyone and everyone that may have an interest in the Limekiln Simmons property continuing to fulfill the educational purpose of Dorothea Simmons’s original 1932 gift. The donation was made to permanently benefit the community, rather than be sold to a developer for housing as the Hatboro Horsham School District is planning.
Because the School District no longer wants the property, one very fitting way to honor Dorothea’s intention, in an up-to-date way, would be for the property to now become a nonprofit post-secondary food and sustainability school. There is a carefully selected group of 18 very capable advisors, all very qualified in their individual realms, to guide the food and sustainability school effort forward to accomplishment.
Whether you are a part of the Hatboro Horsham community that is most directly affected and only care that the permanent purpose of the gift continues to be appropriately honored in some manner, or whether your interest is primarily the proposed food and sustainability school solution, please do contact us by email or phone. We want to hear from you!
To those of you who are regional or beyond and see benefits to the proposed food and sustainability school, or the donative intent of gifts being honored, we are very interested in hearing from you too!
